GARMIN GNS530
for X-Plane 12

Did you know that you can buy a GARMIN GNS530 for X-plane or MSFS?

I didn't but found it and a way to create it myself.
After connecting a 5 inch PI display with a HDMI/USB interface i could make the GNS display from X-Plane viewable.
So by creating a PIC18F2550 joystick interface with buttons and encoders around the display, i created my own GARMIN GNS530.

Using Thinkercad for a while now, gave me the idea to print the unit completely, buttons and knobs included.

All the encoders are directly connected to inputs on the MPU. Three groups of six buttons are connected to Analog inputs.

So, flying small planes, mostly VFR in mountainius terrain is even more fun now!
